Take a small piece of chocolate. Experts recommend dark chocolate with a large cocoa content because that is one of the best options to get the enhanced taste of chocolate.

  1. Now take a few deep breaths to relax yourself. Close your eyes and concentrate on the deep breathing for a couple of minutes. You will need to feel completely relaxed.
  2. Take a small bite of the chocolate. Let it stay on the tongue and melt in your mouth slowly. Concentrate on the flavours of the chocolate. Get absorbed in the flavours of the chocolate. In a few minutes you will notice that the flavours from the chocolate are getting absorbed with what you are experiencing at the moment. Continue to breathe deeply and be aware of the different sensations the piece of chocolate is leaving in your mouth.
  3. Swallow the chocolate slowly and focus on it as you do the same. Concentrate on the process of it being swallowed. When you take a second bite of the chocolate, notice what it feels like when you raise the arms to out the chocolate in the mouth. Concentrate on how the piece of chocolate feels in your hand and the sensations you feel as your bring it closer to your mouth.
  4. Repeat Step 2 and 3.

After you have repeated the steps, focus on the sensations you are feeling post the experience. Concentrate on how you are feeling now. Try and not have other thoughts in your mind. If your mind wanders, take a few deep breaths and refocus on the flavours and sensations you associated in your mind when you ate the chocolate.

Now very slowly bring your attention back to the room where you are meditating. Become aware of your surroundings, the sounds that you hear, the mat that you are seated on and the fragrances around you.

The whole idea of this experience is to stay in the moment. Just like you savoured the chocolate, savour the moment and the feeling. Revisit the feeling throughout the day to feel more relaxes and less stressed.
