Being fit is more than concentrating on the series of workouts and diet. When you are healthy, you are able to have a stronger focus on your mind body and soul. Staying healthy is a habit. A habit that comes with practice. Start these four simple practices, follow it for at least three months and you will be surprised to see how positive your thoughts are. These four life changing mind sets will keep you in a positive frame of mind, ensuring a healthier lifestyle.

Having positive thoughts

Did you know that your outlook and perception about situations have the ability to control your mood? Everyone has their bouts of stress and despair, life has a knack of running into roadblocks, what is more important is your positive mind set  in these moments that can help you take the necessary steps for personal growth. At the end of the day, it is about choosing how to respond to the external things we can’t control. Let go of the stress and things that are beyond your control. Instead focus your positive thoughts on factors in your life that can be controlled.

Take daily timeouts from life

Don’t lose yourself to the rat race. Don’t do things in a hurry, constantly moving from one thing to another barely registering the beautiful moments that have passed you by. Be mindful and take time out for yourself. Appreciate the moment. So often we focus on the goals that we set for ourselves that we forget to thank what we already have. Express gratitude to the moment, to the people in your life and all your aspirations. You can also end the chaos in the mind by choosing to meditate for at least 15 minutes in a day. Choose a quiet place where you would not be disturbed and concentrate on your breathing and focus on meditation. Meditating for as little as 10 minutes a day can make a big difference.

Take ownership of your actions

Ever scribbled that quote in your diary that inspired you? Or that feel-good story that inspired you to take that extra mile. At the end of the day, you need to realize that you are the architect of your own life. What you think is what you create. Those who thrive in life and fitness understand that discipline is essential and excuses serve no purpose. When you choose to take ownership of your actions, you are mindful of what you are doing and you can steer your life in the direction you want to.

Exercise

You may not always have the time to hit the gym or head for a run, but you should always have the time to add some movement in your daily life.  Stay consistent to ensure that you will have some movement through the day. Head for a walk and indulge in a quick round of asanas that will ensure a fitness regimen for you. Just like you cannot avoid necessary things in life like paying bills or shopping for groceries, make sure that you adopt fitness as a necessary regime in your life. Even 15 minutes of brisk exercises can do wonders for your health and your body.
