No matter what your skin type is, it is important to keep it more nourished in the winters because the cold weather tends to make your skin dry. Depending on your skin type, you can be prone to skin issues that can range from chapped skin, dryness, dull  skin and acne.

Face packs should be used in winter to ensure that your skin gets the right nourishment. You can make face packs for winter with ingredients that are easily available at your home. Opting for natural face packs ensure that you are using ingredients that are fresh and good for your skin. You can also choose from our range of face masks that can be used all year round too if you are a tad lazy to make your own face packs for winter.

Did you know that fruits like apple, banana, avocado and peach help to make your skin supple, moisturize it and bring back the original glow? We’ve listed a few face packs for winter that can be used based on your skin type. These homemade face packs for glowing skin can be a source of hydration for your skin in the winters.

Banana and Sweet Almond Oil Mask

Mash a ripe banana and add a teaspoon of Sweet Almond Oil to this and mix it well to create a paste. Apply to your face and neck and wash off with warm water. This will particularly help if you have dry skin because the Sweet Almond Oil (read more about our newly launched, anti-oxidant rich Sweet Almond Oil here) will hydrate and nourish your skin. If you have oily skin, you can replace the oil with aloe vera gel. This will help in cleansing the excess oils from your face without making it dry. For normal skin, you can use either pure rose water or aloe vera gel.

Fullers Earth and Almond Pack

Soak 10 – 12 almonds for an hour and grind to a smooth paste. Add to this 2 tablespoons fullers earth, quarter a spoon of sandalwood powder, 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel and enough rose water to make it into a thick paste.  Apply to your face and neck, and wash off with warm water. This is recommended for those who have an oily skin. The finely ground almonds will help to exfoliate dead skin. The oils from the almonds ensure that your skin does not dry out too much. You can also use one of our best sellers called the Ubtan all-purpose mask if you are pressed for time to make a face mask for oily skin.

Carrot, Lemon and Tomato Mask

This mask works to lighten your skin and is good for all skin types. It also acts like a very mild bleach and helps to lighten the skin discoloration. Mix together 1 tbsp each of carrot juice, lemon juice and tomato juice. Apply on your face and neck and let it stay for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water.

No matter what your skin type is, once you have washed your face with the warm or tepid water and patted it dry, follow up with a moisturiser for better skin nourishment. You can choose either the Protective Face Moisturiser or the Ultra-light moisturiser for oily skin. And if you have particularly dry skin, use the Sacred Lotus Night Cream at nights to keep your face and neck nourished and hydrated.

Using face packs in winter helps to improve your skin tone and lock in the moisture. Get ready to mix and match ingredients that are readily available at your home to give your skin complete nourishment this winter.
